Who is Larry Pitman?

I am an American who has lived in Peru for twenty years. I live with my wife, a Peruvian, daughter, grandson, and two dogs. I have also spent long periods in Bolivia (two years), Australia (nine years), and Hawaii (two years). So, I am very experienced as an expatriate, and I hope that my experience may be useful for people who either want to be expatriates, are currently expatriates, have been expatriates, or want to experience it vicariously.

I admire humorist Dave Barry, and my writing often examines an experience as he might. My readers have described recent pieces as “ true and hilarious.” I can be serious, too, and will include such diverse subjects as food ( I love Peruvian food), dogs, extraordinary people I have met, and what I have learned living as an expatriate.

I am very disciplined as to publishing. I will have pieces on Tuesday and Thursday each week. In addition, I will read and record my article for people to listen to by using their cell phones.

Currently all my offerings are free, but I will at some point ask my subscribers to offer some support. In addition, I

will offer a coaching service for those planning to be expatriates or are currently expatriates. Frankly, many fail to have a good experience. I hope to improve the odds.

Just a little more about my background. I spent many years as a professor at one of the leading universities in Peru. My area is Business English. I have a private practice in this area currently helping professionals perform in English in highly stressful situations such as job interviews, presentations, and important meetings.
